Newlandmedia – Meeting Room Upgrade

All large companies and organisations are constantly challenged with meeting room space/availability along with providing continuity of effective presentation solutions. Keeping user interfaces simple whilst engaging with new technologies is a challenge at the best of times. Newlandmedia are focused on working at and improving standards with the corporate meeting room space. See how Newlandmedia helped Northumbrian Water achieve their meeting room upgrade project below

The Brief –

Provide easy to use state-of-the-art technology for all meeting rooms within Northumbria and Boldon House in Durham. Each room to be have the same look, feel and interface. The bird’s nest of cables must be a thing of the past. The support calls to IT must be reduced and the user must be able to present quickly and easily.

The Challenge –

Provide a solution that delivers on time and in budget. Scheduling an install program in that allows the business to function as normal with minimum disruption as possible. Design a system that caters for various styles of connectivity without it being complicated to use.

The Solution –

Newlandmedia designed, supplied, installed a complete turnkey solution that supports a variation of connectivity and keeps continuity throughout both buildings. To achieve this Newlandmedia broke down the brief into two core areas.


  1. Design: HD crystal clear images are essential – we achieved this in each room with the specification of the LG COM PRO commercial HD TV range. These sets provide stunning image quality with analogue and digital connectivity. The range allowed us to install screen of various sizes from 42 – 65-inch whilst all the while keeping the look and feel the same in each meeting room. Connectivity was always going to be a challenge, some rooms are using VC systems other via a desk and others a mix of both and wireless – we achieved this by keeping the users connectivity simple and installing behind the scenes where needed presentation scalers. Partition walls and large screens / especially dual screens for V/C systems don’t go together well – we achieved this by using our Q floor wall mount systems with added floor plates and tie back kits, this provided the perfect solution for the big screen impact with a neat looking mounting system which spreads the weight safely between the floor and wall.


  1. Installation and commissioning: Installation and commissioning was carefully planned in conjunction with Northumbrian Waters IT and Facilities departments. Times were provided for each individual install within each room to enable facilities to keep to room down times to a minimum. Schedule updates were provided throughout the 52 room project.
