Judged as Outstanding in 2013 St Anthony’s have continued to deliver their goals to make the education and experiences of their pupils second to none. Recently finishing stage one of a new school build, meticulously planned from ambient lighting to first class technology all to aid students and teachers to reach their full potential.
St Anthony’s have kept upto date with the ever changing technologies available to us, not only with state of the art equipment but ensuring staff and students had the training they required to use the equipment correctly to encourage interactivity and engagement while learning.
This is true in their huge undertaking of future proofing their new classrooms. Extensive research was carried out to determine where technology was headed and what systems needed to be put in place to carry their students forward. Historically they had Hitachi Interactive Whiteboards and various projectors in their classrooms. Mr Bob Ratcliffe, Deputy Head wanted to move away from this technology and move forward. With this is mind the school decided on Interactive Touchscreens.
Newlandmedia Ltd worked with the school to deliver a whole range of audio visual technology throughout. Firstly the de-cant, the removal of all existing projectors and interactive whiteboards from the old classrooms. A few were re-installed temporarily into prefabs until the building was finished. For the first phase Newlandmedia supplied and installed 49 x 65” Clevertouch Plus screens. Once installed Newlandmedia provided an initial full day drop in training session to help integrate the new technology into their school. Follow up training sessions are provided when required. A number of classrooms/labs have an EPSON projection system with amplifier ceiling speakers and a connection plate. An audio system was installed into the canteen which comprised of flush mounted ceiling speakers, amplifier, CD player, dabfm digital radio.
Finally Newlandmedia have provided a ONELAN digital signage system throughout the building. This will provide the ability to send messages, news, menus, alerts to whole building without the need for posters, emails, phonecalls etc. The signage system has a central publisher where the content is created and published. It is then distributed to the players that sit behind 55” IIyama monitors distributed throughout. Newlandmedia provide a bespoke template layout and training as always to ensure a professional look and feel.
“I have used Newlandmedia now for over 20 years. Throughout that time they have just provided a brilliant service from start to finish. In our old school they completely transformed the classrooms, that had a lot of asbestos ceiling tiles, with wall-mounted solutions. They also provided large projector systems, sound system as well as signage. Now that we have just moved into a new Priority Schools Build project, the lads have provided Clevertouch screens in every classroom, a sound system in the dining hall as well as OneLan digital signage. What more can I say, I just love these guys … and Jo! Keep up the good work as always.”
